Employee Spotlight: Matt Fischer

Each month,  we spotlight one of the many dedicated people here at TJM who make your custom products possible. This month, we feature Director of Client Relations Matt Fischer!

What do you do at TJM and how long have you worked here?

I am the Director of Client Relations, which means that I work hard to ensure that our wonderful clients have a great experience choosing and designing the promotional products that are right for them (among many other things).

A lot of our customers have never bought promotional products before. So we want to ensure they are making an informed decision, one that will give their business or organization the best return. I have been with TJM Promos, keeping customers happy for 5 years.

What's your favorite aspect of your job?

Building lasting relationships with my clients and seeing how we can help them grow their business, spread awareness for their cause, or outfit their workforce. It's great to have clients come to you year after year with their needs. At that point it's like dealing with family, in a good way.

What's the work you've done that you're most proud of?

I am proud of all the work I do. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?

My wife and I frequent many of the rivers and springs around here for paddle boarding. I also love riding my dual-sport motorcycle out in the Ocala National Forest. And if I am not on my bike or my board, I love running and hiking and taking naps in hammocks.

Tell us a little about your family.

I have a wonderful wife Lauren, and three adorable cats — Frisky Dingo, Rye Toast, and Pootie Tang.  Lauren and I work hard so our cats can live a luxurious life. Everyone at the office has seen, on more than one occasion, many, many pictures of them.  They are quite photogenic. See for yourself!

 

What do you like most about living in central Florida?

Being a five-minute drive away from the world famous Silver Springs and the Silver River, providing some of the best paddling there is in Florida. Also less than a 20-minute ride from some of my favorite trails in the Ocala National Forest.

We also frequent both the Gulf and Atlantic coast beaches in summer, although we are a house divided. I prefer Atlantic coast and Lauren prefers Gulf coast, so we try to split the trips evenly.

What do you like best about working for TJM?

My coworkers can be a real hoot, they are pretty neat. Also, I love leading the team in the birthday song each month when we get together for cake and cookies and all sorts of sweets to celebrate everyone's birthday for that month. And the holiday celebrations we have are next level food-coma inducing! We like to work hard, but also have a good time at TJM. That is what makes it great.

Any exciting things planned in the future?  

Lauren and I are going skiing in early April, so we are both thrilled about that.  For long-time Floridians, we are not too shabby on the slopes. Pizza, French Fry – easy as that!

Anything else you'd like to tell the world about?  

Only you can prevent forest fires.
