Small Town Americana: Fourth of July in Michigan's Upper Peninsula

Don Henley sang of "that same small town in each of us." Here's what Independence Day is like in one such small town in Michigan

Gotta love small towns on the Fourth of July! There’s no better place to celebrate the American spirit. As proof, here are a few snapshots from the 2021 Independence Day parade in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The town on the border of Michigan and Wisconsin in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula celebrates the Fourth each year as small towns throughout America always have. A true slice of Americana!

First up, Donald, Mickey and pals.

Vroom!

Basketball!

What’s a parade without clowns?

The combined Iron Mountain and Kingsford High School Marching Bands!
