Here at TJM Promotions, we always consider it an honor to work with any type of charity organization, large or small. We recently had the privilege of working with fellow Florida native Lauren Book and her charity, Lauren's Kids. The organization seeks to "prevent sexual abuse through awareness and education, and to help survivors heal with guidance and support."
Lauren's Kids helps educate children and adults about sexual abuse by speaking at events around the country and offering a 24-hour hotline that anyone can call. Lauren's Kids has supported many acts of legislation in the state of Florida that help protect victims of abuse and begin the healing process.
As a child, Lauren was a victim of sexual abuse by her nanny. She used that experience as inspiration to start her own organization to help prevent childhood sexual abuse and assist in the healing process for survivors.
Lauren's Kids contacted us to order black and teal wristbands showing their support for the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs. The wristbands feature the name of the organization, the website, "42 million" (the number of sexual abuse survivors in America), and "GO HEAT" in bold teal letters.
Players and coaches of the Miami Heat will be wearing the wristbands in the final games of the playoffs to show their support for Lauren's Kids. By wearing the wristbands, the Heat players are showing incredible sportsmanship on and off the court.
We are humbled to play even a small part in such a great movement, and we wish all the best to the Lauren's Kids organization. We're rooting for the Heat in the playoffs, and we're ecstatic that such a great team will be wearing our wristbands!
