Last Friday, we held our annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party, complete with gift exchange!
With a $15 limit, 29 people participated in the gift exchange. With gifts ranging from a giant Darth Vader to lottery scratch-offs to beer to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle bowling set, there was quite a selection to choose from.
While the scratch-off tickets and the giant Vader were the most sought after, everyone ended up with something nice. There were no repeats of last year's toilet paper incident, and even what seemed like a bad gift had a redeeming quality (a toy dinosaur that included a hidden gift card tied to its foot.)
After the gift exchange, we had an ugly sweater contest and, boy, were there someâ¦interesting entries. We'll let you decide. Here are some of the contestants:
Elizabeth – “Three Carmen Moon,” featuring Carmen, one of our patch guys.
Tim – “Snowman with…Bejeweled Snow.”
Frank – “Christmas Tree with Mark, wearing his purple hoodie that he always wears in the office.” (Mark says to please excuse his crazy face.)
Trudi & Robin – “Christmas Tree with Teddy Bears”
Frank won the contest with his light-up sweater, much to the dismay of Mark, who felt more than a little weird about the whole thing.
There were plenty of delicious cookies, fudge, and other treats to enjoy afterwards, along with hot chocolate and eggnog.
It was definitely a great party with some truly ridiculous sweaters, and we're already looking forward to next year's party.
From everyone here at TJM: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
