Employee Spotlight: Shawna Solvik

Each month, we spotlight one of our dedicated employees here at TJM. This month, meet someone many of you have talked to when you call us — our administrative supervisor, Shawna Solvik!

What's your full name?

Shawna Ray Solvik

What do you do at TJM and how long have you worked here?

I've been an administrative assistant since March 2013. I was promoted to administrative supervisor in December. So, almost 4 years now. I'm the face of the company when you walk in. I do customer service, help out our sales reps, work with all of our factories, handle bills, orders, filing. Without Admin, TJM might be lost!

What's your favorite aspect of working here?

It's nice to wake up and look forward to going to work, I've never had that before and I can't express how relieving it is. I'm allowed to have tattoos showing, crazy hair, etc. I truly love the diversity at TJM, and how many nerds are here. We are one with the Force, the Force is one with us.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?

Not going to lie, I like to sleep and eat cheese.

Tell us a little about your family.

I'm extremely proud of my Norwegian heritage, thanks to my father. I carry the name Solvik close to heart. I'm the baby sister of three, and I love my Mama Bear. My pit bull, Gimli, means the world to me, and I don't know where I would be today without his goofiness in my life.

What do you like most about living in central Florida?

Absolutely nothing…ha, just kidding! I actually love the location. It is in the center and so close to all the best Florida places like Orlando, Gainesville, Tampa, etc. Not to mention, this is where my family & friends are — it doesn't get much better than that.

Any exciting things planned in the future?

I'm looking forward to what the new year has planned for me with my new promotion. Living life day by day at the moment, it's working out pretty well.
