What do you do at TJM and how long have you worked here?
I've been with TJM since Aug 6th 2012 â I have been the warehouse manager, screen printer, screen printer trainer, sales rep, and graphic artist.
What's your favorite product that you've helped create?
There have been several! I always enjoy working with NASA, awesome TV shows such as The Walking Dead, Orange County Choppers, and various major bands. It's really cool to think that some of the products I've helped make have been on TV and in space!
Tell us about your music career?
I play trumpet professionally, but I also mess around with guitar, piano, bass, and trombone. It has been an amazing journey so far! I had the opportunity to play with several Grammy-winning jazz artists while in college. Just to name a few: The Charles Mingus Big Band, Gary Burton, Maria Schneider, Terence Blanchard, Scotty Barnhart, Ed Calle and others. It has taken me to New York City to perform in the Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. I am very thankful for my father taking me to a concert when I was in eighth grade to hear Maynard Ferguson. It changed my life and kept me out of a lot of trouble.
What are your other hobbies/interests outside of work?
Guns, girls, beer, Harleys, horror flicks, grilling meat, tattoos, helping people that are broke down on the side of the road.
Tell us a little bit about your family?
I am single, no pets, no kids, I have an older half brother and a younger half sister â kind of a modern Brady Bunch, biker style. Both my parents are alive and well. My dad is a retired Lt. firefighter and still a Lieutenant for the sheriff's department. My mom works at a local flower shop helping guys all around Ocala get out of trouble with their significant other. As for what keeps me coming back to Ocala, it's my family. They are the only ones that have always been there for me through the ups and downs, wrongs and rights.
What do you like most about living in central Florida?
The ability to ride my Harley year round is a huge deal. I wish it was colder sometimes so I wasn't sweating in November, but being able to ride is amazing.
Any exciting things planned in the future?
Well, I would really like to take a vacation sometime, since I'm typically working more than one job because of playing music. Maybe go somewhere in the mountains by a lake, where there is no Wi-Fi or cell phones.
Anything else you'd like to tell the world about?
Time. Time isn't tangible, yet it's the most valuable thing we have in my opinion. How, where, and with whom you spend your time directly alters the uncertain future. Each decision we make involves time in some way and when you choose to give someone or something your time, you are giving them your life.
