Customer Spotlight: Terry's Place Sports Bar and Grill

Our Customer Spotlight is shining on a local institution today. Terry’s Place Sports Bar and Grill has been a fixture in Ocala since 1980. 

“We make all our bread homemade every day as well as hand cut all our steaks,” said third-generation owner Davin Jones. “We are known for our large portions, affordable prices and truly love being a place for locals and visitors to enjoy.”

The restaurant has long been an Ocala favorite, well known for its classic food. In a local lifestyle magazine’s annual “Better than the Best” poll, readers named Terry’s Place the best place in town for cheeseburgers and French fries. 

Although the menu might have changed a bit over the past four and a half decades, the classic logo hasn’t.

“Our logo design has been the same since day one,” Jones said. “Old school? Maybe.  But it's the image people recognize and know when it is seen.”

When it came time to print that logo on t-shirts and other items, Jones knew where to turn – TJM Promos. You could say he had an “old school” connection of his own.

“My wife and I both went to high school with Justin [MacDonald, TJM’s VP Sales and Marketing] and Matt [Fischer, TJM Client Relations Director]. As small business owners, we love being able to support another local business.”

The restaurant counts on TJM for apparel and other things.

“We have purchase t-shirts, hoodies, koozies and dry-fit shirts. The majority of the shirts we have purchased have been used for our employee uniforms. We also ordered a batch of custom St. Patrick's Day shirts for our staff,  as well as koozies to give out to patrons on St. Patty’s.”

The response to all of them has been positive, he added.

“Everyone from staff, to customers have had only positive things to say about the products we have purchased.”

He also praised TJM’s signature customer service.

“Communication has been amazing, every question has been answered in a timely manner, and all the products have met or exceeded expectations,” Jones said. “You’re doing an amazing job.’

We’re grateful for the support, Davin. It’s our privilege to be a part of the success story of such a long-lasting local business. We look forward to continuing to sere all the custom promo product needs of Terry’s Place for many years to come. And you can bet we’ll be coming by for burgers and fries in the very near future!
