The Cal Ripken 10-year-old World Series is progressing nicely here in Ocala, Florida! Our local team, the Ocala Rotary Rampage, is undefeated along with two other teams – South Lexington, Kentucky, and West Raleigh, North Carolina. All three teams are tied for first with three wins each. South Lexington and West Raleigh play each other today (Aug. 14), so only one team in the National Division will remain undefeated as single-elimination play begins Aug. 15.
Teams continue with pool play until Thursday, August 15th, when the single-elimination tournament begins. The second- and third-place teams in both the American Division and the National Division play each other, and the winners of those games face the first place teams on Friday, August 16th. The championship game is on Saturday, August 17th between the top two teams at the Ocala Rotary Sportsplex on SE Maricamp Road.
